Coal and Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy met Chief Minister Hemant Soren, discussed Jharia Master Plan, compensation and jobs of railways.
Ranchi: Union Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy had a formal meeting with Chief Minister Hemant Soren at his residential office on Kanke Road on Wednesday. On this occasion, there was a positive discussion between the officials of the State Government, Ministry of Coal and subsidiary units of Coal India regarding the betterment of the coal and mining sector. During this, important topics/issues related to coal mines in the state were discussed. On the occasion, the Chief Minister presented the state government’s side on many important issues related to coal mines, including Jharia Master Plan, Belgaria Township Project, Government Land Compensation, return of land that has been completed, review of the remaining land, operation of new coal mining projects, etc., while the Union Coal Minister informed the Chief Minister about the problems being faced by the coal mining projects. The Chief Minister said that the solution to the problems related to coal mines is possible only with better coordination between the Central and State Governments. The Chief Minister said that Jharia Master Plan and Belgaria Township Project is an important initiative, under these projects the displaced families can be provided a safe and dignified life. There was also discussion on the appointment of a full-time CEO for the Jharia Master Plan soon.
Celebrating the passing of PESA from Niyamawali cabinet, people of tribal community came to the Chief Minister’s residence and expressed gratitude to Hemant Soren.

In the presence of Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Union Coal Minister G. Kishan Reddy, there was a meeting between the officials regarding royalty on minerals, rehabilitation of displaced people, jobs and compensation, policy decisions regarding ban on government land, review of the balance, discussion on providing help by the state government in reconciliation work, return of land after mining work has been completed, control on accidents due to illegal mining in mines, local residents living in the mining area and nearby. Positive discussions were held on important issues like employment to people, resolution of hurdles in operationalizing coal projects and use of CSR funds.

On this occasion, State Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar, Private Secretary to Union Coal Minister Pankaj Jain, Chairman Coal India B. Sairam, Advisor MoC B. Veera Reddy, Alok Singh, CMD CCL NK Singh, CMD BCCL Manoj Aggarwal, Shiv Raj Singh from CMPDIL, GM CCL SK Jha and other officers were present.
