‘We did not get justice..’, Unnao rape victim’s mother misbehaved in Delhi, CRPF jawans hit her with elbow, had to jump from a moving bus; Rahul said- What kind of justice is this?

There was an uproar on the streets of the country’s capital when paramilitary force personnel misbehaved with the mother of the Unnao rape victim. The soldiers stopped the victim and her mother from talking to the media. Not only this, the elderly mother was forced to jump from the moving bus. Let us tell you, Delhi High Court has given relief to former BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar accused in this case on Tuesday. The victim and her mother had reached Delhi to protest against this. The Delhi High Court suspended Sengar’s life sentence with several conditions till the appeal against the sentence is pending.

Was taken into custody at India Gate

On Tuesday night, the victim, her mother and lawyer-activist Yogita Bhayana had protested at India Gate. During the protest there, the victim’s mother had said that we have been fighting for justice for 9 years. I lost my husband. The police scare us and misbehave with us. My family is not safe. After this he was taken into custody.

Ruckus in Mandi House

According to NDTV report, on Wednesday morning the mother and daughter planned to talk to the media at Mandi House. But the CRPF bus did not stop at Mandi House. It can be seen in the video that the victim’s mother then reaches the gate of the bus. During this, CRPF jawans elbow them and force them to jump from the moving bus. The surprising thing was that during this time no female CRPF personnel was present in the bus. Whereas that bus was carrying the victim and her mother. After being continuously pushed by the soldiers, the mother jumped from the moving bus onto the road. The victim remained sitting in the bus and the bus moved ahead with her.

Later speaking to the media, the mother said, ‘We did not get justice. My daughter has been taken hostage. It seems they want to kill us. The CRPF men took the girl away and left me on the road. We will give our lives.

What did Rahul Gandhi say?

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has written on social media platform X regarding this matter, ‘Is such behavior with a gangrape victim appropriate? Is it her “mistake” that she is daring to raise her voice for justice? It is extremely disappointing and shameful for his culprit (former BJP MLA) to get bail – especially when the victim is being repeatedly harassed and is living in fear. Bail to rapists, and treating victims like criminals – what kind of justice is this? We are not just a dead economy – with such inhuman incidents we are also becoming a dead society. In a democracy, raising the voice of dissent is a right, and suppressing it is a crime. Victims should receive respect, protection and justice – not helplessness, fear and injustice.’

Came to Delhi to protest

In 2017, a 17-year-old girl was raped in Unnao. The allegation was leveled against BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar. After this he was expelled from the party. In the year 2019, he was found guilty of raping a minor. Besides, he was also convicted in the case of custodial death of the victim’s father. Then Delhi High Court on Tuesday suspended Sengar’s life imprisonment. The court also granted him conditional bail pending the appeal against the sentence. The conditions of relief include a bond of Rs 15 lakh, staying in Delhi, not coming within 5 km of the victim’s house and not threatening the family. However, Sengar will still remain in jail due to the 10-year sentence given in the case of the death of the victim’s father.
