Rojade shot dead, killed with sharp knife, 6 arrested
Udaipur. In the nearby newly formed Salumber district, a case of hunting of Rojada challenging the Wildlife Protection Act has come to light. In this incident that took place in Jhallara police station area, the police took immediate action and arrested 6 accused. 2 caped guns, pellets and 4 sharp knives used in hunting have been recovered from the possession of the accused.
The incident is of 21st December. According to the information, the accused were shooting Rojde and cutting his flesh in the forest area. During this time, some youth of the village noticed him. When the youth gave chase, the accused fled from the spot. Later the police was informed, acting on which the accused were arrested from the forest.
Police Officer Jai Kishan said that in this regard the applicant Rituraj Singh resident of Sikar, Hal Jhallara had lodged a report. The report said that on December 21, he was with his associates Mohit Taylor, Sandeep, Dheeraj Patel, Ravi Patel and others, when they saw the accused riding on three-four bikes carrying weapons.
The accused had guns and sharp weapons in their hands. When the youth gave chase, the accused went towards the forest near Karmal Mataji temple. After some time, the sound of gunshot was heard. When the youth reached there, they saw that the accused had killed a deer and were cutting its meat. Seeing themselves surrounded, the accused threw their weapons in the bushes and ran away.
On receiving information, Jhallara police station reached the spot and recovered the body of Rojde. Later, a search operation was conducted and Shaheed Mohammad, Shoaib, Shahrukh, Farooq, Chhotu and Asif were arrested. Police said that a case has been registered against all the accused under the Wildlife Protection Act and further investigation is being done. It is noteworthy that a few days ago, a local Congress leader under Rishabhdev police station was arrested along with his history-sheeter friend while hunting peacock and cooking its meat.
