Good news for ‘teachers’ in Bihar, DA increased to 58%

News Desk. Before the new year, a relief news has emerged for the teachers of Bihar. About 12 thousand teachers of Banka district, who were facing problems related to salary and allowances for a long time, have now started getting direct benefits. After the latest order at the departmental level, rapid action has been taken in this direction in the last few days.

Benefit of increase in dearness allowance

The state government has increased the rate of dearness allowance of teachers. Whereas earlier they were being given dearness allowance at the rate of 50 percent, now it has been increased to 58 percent. Although the government had already increased it in phases, due to technical reasons most of the teachers were getting paid at the old rate only. Now after the update of HRMS system, all the teachers have started getting paid as per the new rate.

Arrears also paid

Along with the implementation of the increased rate of dearness allowance, the arrears of the last six months have also been sent to the accounts of the teachers. Teachers from primary to higher secondary level of the district have got the benefit of this arrears. Many teachers have received an amount of around Rs 10 to 12 thousand, due to which they are happy to get the long pending amount.

Salary increase process also accelerated

The Education Department has taken steps not only regarding dearness allowance but also regarding annual salary increase. This benefit was stalled for the last two years, preparations are now underway to restore it. Necessary data is being updated on the departmental portal for increase in the salary of school teachers, special teachers and teachers selected from BPSC.

Technical hurdles resolved

Till now, the main reason for teachers not getting benefits was non-updation of data in HRMS. This problem has been resolved from Patna level, after which the payment process could start. According to the District Education Department, teachers will also get the remaining benefits by January.
