Nisha Chatterjee lashes out at Humayun Kabir for canceling her ticket because she’s a Hindu, alleging a character assassination plot.
New Delhi. Humayun Kabir has formed his own Janata Unnayan Party after his suspension from Trinamool Congress Party, but with this he is once again embroiled in controversy. Social media influencer Nisha Chatterjee, a member of his own party, has made serious allegations against Humayun Kabir, who was in the news for laying the foundation of Babri Masjid in Murshidabad, West Bengal. In fact, Nisha Chatterjee was declared the candidate from Humayun Kabir’s party from Ballygunge seat for the West Bengal Assembly elections to be held in 2026. But now his candidature has been withdrawn. Enraged by this, Nisha Chatterjee alleged that her ticket was canceled because she was a Hindu.

Nisha has said that she was invited on the foundation day of Janata Unnayan Party on 22 December and was made a member of the committee. After this he was declared the candidate from Ballygunge. Nisha claimed that Humayun Kabir himself had asked her to become a candidate. Within 24 hours of the announcement of my candidature, a conspiracy is being hatched on social media to defame my character by terming my photos and videos as obscene. I am being harassed socially on the pretext of social media.

Nisha alleged that Humayun Kabir and his party pretend to be secular whereas the reality is that I was targeted on the basis of religious identity even though I had already supported the construction of Babri Masjid. Let us tell you that Humayun Kabir has cited Nisha Chatterjee’s social media videos as the reason for canceling her candidature. Humayun Kabir said that I saw some pictures and videos of Nisha on social media after which I felt that she should not be the candidate of our party.
