4 stages of blood cancer, which is the most dangerous? Know complete details

Health Desk. Blood cancer, also known as leukemia, is a serious disease in which the body’s blood cells start growing abnormally. This cancer can be of many types and the success of its treatment depends on when and at what stage it is identified. Blood cancer is generally divided into four stages, each of which has a different severity and treatment challenge.

Stage 1: Initial stage

Blood cancer is difficult to diagnose at this stage because symptoms may be mild or resemble general health problems such as fatigue, weakness or mild fever. In this stage, the spread of the disease is limited and the chances of cure are high.

Stage 2: Intermediate Stage

In this stage, abnormal blood cells start growing rapidly. The patient may suffer from problems like frequent infections, weight loss, frequent fever and formation of blood clots. The complexity of treatment increases in this stage, but if treatment is started on time, the disease can be controlled.

Stage 3: Advanced Stage

In stage 3, cancer begins to spread to other parts of the body. Liver, spleen and bone marrow are affected. The patient suffers from severe weakness, bleeding and frequent infections. This stage is considered extremely serious and requires high level medical care for treatment.

Stage 4: Final Stage

Stage 4 is considered to be the most dangerous stage of blood cancer. In this stage, cancer has spread to most of the body parts and the patient’s condition becomes serious. Treatment is challenging and the chances of success are low. Stage 4 usually involves chemotherapy, stem cell transplant and other advanced treatments.
