India opener Prithvi Shaw was sold to Delhi Capitals at the IPL 2026 Auction on Tuesday. DC picked up Shaw for his base price of Rs. 75 lakh, after he went unsold twice earlier in the auction.
The 26-year-old had been in decent recent form, scoring 183 runs in seven matches at a strike rate above 160 in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025–26.
Shaw has represented only Delhi Capitals in the IPL. Across 79 matches, he has scored 1892 runs at an average of 23.94 and a strike rate of 147.46.
He had missed IPL 2025 after he was released by Delhi Capitals following a disappointing outing in the 2023 and 2024 seasons, scoring just 304 runs from 16 games.
