Nigeria blast: Five killed, 35 injured in mosque blast
Lagos, Agency. Five people were killed and 35 injured in a bomb blast during prayers at a mosque in Nigeria’s north-eastern state of Maiduguri on Wednesday night. Police gave this information.
Police said it could have been a suicide attack. “Preliminary investigation suggests it may have been a suicide bombing as fragments of a suspected suicide vest have been recovered and witness statements have also been recorded,” Borno State Police Command spokesman Nahum Dassow said in a statement. Investigation is ongoing to find out the real cause and circumstances of the incident.” No group has claimed responsibility for this attack, but it is believed that the extremist organization Boko Haram carries out such attacks.
