Aligarh.There was a sensation in the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) campus of Uttar Pradesh when a teacher was shot dead by scooter-riding assailants during his evening walk. This incident happened so fast that no one got a chance to recover. The name of the deceased teacher was Rao Danish Ali, who was a computer teacher at ABK Union High School of the university.

It is around 9 pm on Wednesday evening. Like everyday, Danish Ali was strolling around the canteen near Maulana Azad Library with his two friends. He used to come here often. Suddenly two masked miscreants riding on a scooter came. Without saying anything, he started firing rapidly at Danish. The bullet hit him directly in the head. Danish fell there. The attackers started the scooter and fled away.

People and students nearby started running here and there in fear. Hearing the sound of gunshots, there was chaos in the entire campus. Someone immediately informed the police and Danish was taken to JN Medical College, but doctors declared him dead. Some people say that 3-5 bullets were fired, but the exact number is not clear yet.

Who was Danish Ali? Belonging to an educated family

Danish Ali was around 43-45 years old. He had studied from AMU itself and had a deep connection with the university. His mother was a teacher in AMU, father was an employee in the university and brother is a teacher in the engineering department. Danish taught computers at ABK High School since 2015. He was also the former captain of the university’s Horse Riding Club. The family members are residents of Diwai in Bulandshahr, but have been settled in Aligarh for a long time.

The family says that he had no enmity with anyone. But some witnesses said the attackers said, “Now you will know who I am” and used abusive language before firing. Hearing this, it seems that the attackers already knew Danish.
