Recently, Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi expressed his views on social media usage by military personnel during the Chanakya Defense Dialogue. During the event, he was asked why Generation Z youths want to join the military, but there appears to be a conflict between the military and social media. Gen Dwivedi replied, “It is really a challenge. When young cadets come to NDA, they first find phones hidden in their rooms. It takes three to six months to convince them that there is life without phones.” However, he also explained that smartphones have become a necessity these days.
