Congress MP Shashi Tharoor gave a big statement regarding Vaibhav Suryavanshi, made a big demand from BCCI and head coach Gautam Gambhir.

New Delhi. Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has compared the talent of Vaibhav Suryavanshi with the God of Cricket Sachin Tendulkar. Tharoor has appealed to the Board of Control for Cricket in India to call 14-year-old Suryavanshi in the national team. Posting on X, Tharoor said that the last time a fourteen-year-old boy showed such great cricket talent, it was Sachin Tendulkar and we all know what happened to him. What are we waiting for? Vaibhav Suryavanshi should be included in the Indian team.

MP Shashi Tharoor has also tagged the official X accounts of head coach Gautam Gambhir, BCCI, Sachin Tendulkar and Ajit Agarkar. Bihar sensation Suryavanshi played a record-breaking innings in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 Plate League match against Arunachal Pradesh on 24 December. He has become the youngest cricketer to score a century in men’s List A cricket. This was also Vaibhav’s first non-T20I century in senior cricket, which came in just 36 balls. This is the third fastest century for India in List A. This was Suryavanshi’s seventh List A match. He made his debut against Madhya Pradesh in December 2025. Apart from this, Suryavanshi also broke the record of former South African cricketer AB de Villiers for scoring the fastest 150 runs in men’s List A cricket. 14-year-old Suryavanshi scored 150 off 59 balls, breaking de Villiers’ record of 64 balls against West Indies in 2015. Suryavanshi was out after scoring 190 runs in 84 balls with the help of 16 fours and 15 sixes at an excellent strike rate of 226.19. Captain Sakibul Ghani scored 128 runs in 40 balls. During this, he hit 10 fours and 12 sixes. Ayush Loharuka scored 116 runs in 56 balls. With the help of centuries from all three players, Bihar scored 574 runs losing six in 50 overs. The highest total in List A cricket history. Whereas Arunachal Pradesh could score only 177 runs after losing all the wickets in 42.1 overs.
