This statement of the Minister of State has not only surprised his supporters, but has also created a new issue of discussion among the opposition parties. Dinesh Khatik has linked his decision to the old political myth of Hastinapur and the curse of Draupadi during the Mahabharata period.

‘Cursed’ seat of Hastinapur

Dinesh Khatik said, “I don’t know why one thing comes to my mind that after becoming an MLA, no one ever became an MLA from Hastinapur again. People used to ask me, will you win again? It is natural that I became an MLA twice and also a minister twice, but now I do not want to contest elections from this cursed land for the third time.” It is clear from his statement that there is an old political myth regarding Hastinapur seat, which he is sharing on the basis of his experiences.

Myth broken due to influence of Modi and Yogi

The Minister of State also admitted that the influence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath helped him a lot in breaking this ‘cursed’ image of Hastinapur. He said, “When no one could win again here, then what was the status of Dinesh Khatik? But there were personalities like Modi in the country and Yogi in the state, who crossed my path and made me an MLA again.”

Viral statement on social media

This announcement of Dinesh Khatik is now becoming increasingly viral on social media. This statement made in the presence of Acharya Pramod Krishnam has given a new direction to political discussions. People and analysts are now speculating whether Khatik will change his seat in the next elections or will take a break from active politics.
