Sam Pitroda On Rahul Gandhi: Overseas Congress Chairman and senior Congress leader Sam Pitroda openly expressed his views on many sensitive issues including Rahul Gandhi’s recent visit to Germany, the state of democracy in India, the alleged weaponization of institutions. While talking to the media, Sam Pitroda not only refuted the allegations of the ruling party but also claimed that during foreign tours, Indian Embassy people keep an eye on Rahul Gandhi and many times foreign leaders are asked not to meet him.
Sam Pitroda rejected the questions raised on the timing of Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Germany and said that foreign trips do not happen suddenly, but are decided months in advance. He told that the main objective of the Germany tour was the meeting of the Progressive Alliance, which includes democratic parties from about 110 countries. He said that in a big country like India, something important is going on all the time. Be it Parliament or any other part of the country, questions will always be raised regarding timing.
‘India or abroad, the truth is the truth’
Sam Pitroda gave a sharp reply to the allegations against Rahul Gandhi of making anti-India statements by going abroad. He said that in today’s times, whatever you say in India becomes international and whatever you say outside, becomes national. Whether the truth is spoken in the country or abroad, the truth remains the truth. There cannot be double standards. He says that if Congress believes that institutions are being captured, media is manipulated and civil society is being weakened, then this will be said in India as well as abroad.

Government accused of spying
