Bangladesh: Will the mathematics of power change with the entry of Tariq Rehman? Jamaat-e-Islami’s restlessness increased

Tariq Rahman News In Hindi: The return to Bangladesh has given a new turn to the country’s politics. His presence before the elections is being considered decisive for BNP. Once again a big change is being seen in the politics of Bangladesh.

Tariq Rahman, son of former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia and senior Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) leader, has returned home after 17 years. As soon as Tariq Rehman reached Dhaka airport on Thursday morning, lakhs of party workers and supporters were present there. ‘Our leader is back’ The airport and the surrounding area echoed with the slogans.

Bangladesh is looking for a popular face

This return of Tariq Rehman has come at a time when election atmosphere is being created in the country and Sheikh Hasina’s Awami League is banned. Before the elections, BNP was looking for a strong and popular face, which has been fulfilled to a great extent by the return of Tariq Rahman. Political analysts believe that he has emerged as one of the strongest contenders for the post of Prime Minister.

Talked to Yunus on phone

Tariq Rahman left Bangladesh and moved to London in 2008. At that time there were serious allegations against him like corruption, bribery and money laundering. Amidst the allegations, he had assured that he would not return to Bangladesh. However, after 17 years the situation has changed. Now there is an interim government in the country, which not only approved their return but also made strict security arrangements. It is being told that as soon as Tariq returned, he spoke on phone to the head of the interim government, Mohammad Yunus.

Big reshuffle in Bangladesh politics

After the removal of Sheikh Hasina from power, there has been a massive change in the politics of Bangladesh. The BNP had weakened during the Hasina government and the Islamic party Jamaat-e-Islami was banned. But after the formation of the interim government, Awami League was banned and the ban on Jamaat-e-Islami was also lifted. After the Supreme Court’s decision on June 1, Jamaat became active again and started trying to increase its support base by fanning anti-India sentiments.

Big twist in BNP due to Tariq’s return

A survey by the US-based International Republican Institute in December indicated that the BNP could become the largest party in Parliament, while Jamaat-e-Islami is also in a strong position. In such a situation, the return of Tariq Rehman is being considered very strategically important for BNP.
