Tata Motors is going to make a big splash in the electric vehicle (EV) segment in the year 2026. The company has revealed the next phase of its EV roadmap, which includes new electric cars, expansion of the charging network and preparations to manufacture batteries in the country. After the tremendous success of Nexon EV, Tata is now going to strengthen its hold in the EV market.
Entry of Sierra EV and Punch EV
Tata will launch its much-awaited Sierra EV in the production version in the calendar year 2026. Along with this, the company will also launch the electric version of its popular micro SUV Punch. Sierra EV is expected to get two battery pack options and it can give a range of more than 500 kilometers on a single charge. After the success of the ICE version, there are high expectations from the EV model too.
Why is Tata Avinya trending on Google?
Tata’s premium electric car Avinya is currently trending heavily on Google. The reason is its unique design and futuristic technology. Avinya was shown several times in concept form till now, but its production-spec version will be launched by the end of 2026. Avinya will be the most premium model of Tata’s EV lineup, which is considered to be a confluence of luxury and advanced technology.
Tata’s EV expansion by 2030
Tata Motors has made it clear that at least 5 new electric cars will be included in its EV portfolio by FY2030. Apart from the Sierra and Avinya families, the existing EV models will also be updated, facelifted and new features will be added from time to time, so as to remain competitive in the market.

Charging Network and Battery Plan
Keeping in mind the convenience of customers, Tata is also betting big on charging infrastructure. The company aims to install 4 lakh charging points by 2027 and 10 lakh charging points by 2030 across the country. Also, high-voltage battery cells will be manufactured in the country from the Agratas Gigafactory being built in Sanand, Gujarat, which will reduce the cost of EV and strengthen the supply chain.
