Gandhinagar, 25 December. Deputy Speaker of Gujarat Assembly Jethabhai Bharwad has resigned from his post. He submitted his resignation to Assembly Speaker Shankar Choudhary, citing increasing workload as the main reason for his resignation.
Jethabhai’s resignation is being considered a sign of an important change in Gujarat politics. He has resigned from his post at a time when many organizational changes are being made in Gujarat BJP and new responsibilities are being given to many leaders. While submitting the resignation, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and BJP State President Jagdish Vishwakarma were also present along with Jethabhai at the residence of Assembly Speaker Shankar Chaudhary.
5 Jethabhai is the MLA of Bar
Jethabhai Bharwad is a five-time MLA and is currently representing Shehra assembly seat in Panchmahal district. He became the Vice President after the 2022 assembly elections. Apart from this, he is also the Chairman of Panchmahal Dairy, which shows his strong hold in the cooperative sector.
However, the resignation of senior leader Bharwad is not being considered surprising for the party because he is playing an active role in the cooperative and dairy sector. Recently he was also in the news in the elections of National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation (NAFED).
