Another Hindu youth murdered in Bangladesh, beaten to death by a mob

According to the Daily Star report, a group of villagers beat a Hindu youth to death on charges of extortion late on Wednesday night in Pansha of Rajbari district of Bangladesh. This incident happened on Wednesday night at around 11 pm. Police officials gave this information.

Several cases of extortion and intimidation registered against Amrit Mandal alias Samrat

According to Bangladesh Police, the name of the deceased is Amrit Mandal alias Samrat, against whom several cases of extortion and intimidation are registered. Police say that Amrit was the leader of ‘Samrat Bahini’. Amrit Mandal alias Samrat (30) is the son of Akshay Mandal of Hussaindanga. The police have arrested Mohammad Salim, an associate of Samrat. Weapons including a pistol have been recovered from him.

Pangsha Circle Assistant Superintendent of Police Debrata Sarkar said that the police reached the spot after receiving information that a person was attacked by local people. The victim has been identified as Amrit Mandal, who was also known as Samrat. The police found him in a very critical condition and he was taken to the hospital for treatment, where he was declared dead.

Police say that two cases including murder were registered against Samrat. Locals told the police that Samrat was allegedly running a criminal gang and was involved in extortion. Was also involved in other illegal activities. He claims that he was hiding in India for a long time and had recently returned to his village in Bangladesh.

Villagers say that Samrat had allegedly demanded money from a local resident, Shahidul Islam. On Wednesday night, he and several of his associates allegedly reached Shahidul’s house to extort money from him. When the family started raising noise by calling them thieves and thieves, the villagers gathered and started beating the emperor. His other companions fled from the spot. Weapons have been recovered from Mohammad Salim, which were handed over to the police.

This incident took place a few days after the mob lynching of a Hindu man named Dipu Chandra in Bangladesh. Mohammad Yunus, head of the interim government of Bangladesh, had condemned the lynching of Dipu Chandra and said that there is no place for mob violence and communal violence in the country.
