Shah said that the Gwalior region has worked to give energy and momentum to India for centuries. From the struggle against the Mughals to the promotion of cultural heritage, this region has played an important role. From Tansen till today, this region has strengthened the cultural tradition of the country. He said that the farmers here gave a new direction to Indian agriculture, while after independence, this region has also provided a large number of soldiers to paramilitary and military forces.
Remembering former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Amit Shah said that a large part of his life was spent in this area, which shaped Atal as Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He not only preserved the cultural heritage of the country but also pioneered the journey from Swaraj to good governance. At that time when English was dominant, he won the hearts of the entire country by giving a speech in Hindi in the United Nations General Assembly.

Presented to the world the principle of peaceful use of nuclear power
Discussing infrastructure development, Amit Shah said that before the tenure of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, investment in infrastructure was not considered a means to win elections. He broke this conservative thinking of Congress and took historic initiatives like the Golden Quadrilateral Project. Along with this, he presented the principle of peaceful use of nuclear power to the whole world.
Bold decision taken to make India a nuclear powered nation
He said that despite global pressures, Atal Bihari Vajpayee took a bold decision to make India a nuclear power nation. Even after the Kargil intrusion, he had clearly said that despite peace efforts, Pakistan has betrayed and talks are not possible until the infiltrators are driven out.
Atal ji was a leader dedicated to public welfare
Shah said that Atal Bihari Vajpayee was a leader dedicated to public welfare. It is very difficult to remain an Ajatashatru even while being in politics, but Atal ji remained true to this criterion throughout his life. This is the reason why even his opponents remained silent in his respect. Before this, the Home Minister also performed Bhoomi Pujan and inaugurated development works worth about Rs 2 lakh crore in Gwalior.
