Converted to dense forest last year

Last year, under the Reverse Project, Volvo Car India transformed an urban wasteland in Ghaziabad into a green forest by planting more than 35,000 trees. This year, the initiative will be taken forward to plant local and climate-tolerant species in the Aravalli area of Gurugram.

2 to 3 geo-tagged saplings will be planted on behalf of each person participating in this initiative. Citizens willing to participate in this initiative Can register on this website.

Conservation of Aravalli ranges is imperative

The Aravalli range is considered a natural shield protecting the Delhi-NCR region from desertification and increasing pollution. However, mining, urbanization and environmental degradation have led to extensive land degradation in the region. The matri forest area is a semi-arid terrain and challenges are soil erosion, low vegetation and water scarcity.

The project aims to transform the area into a self-sustaining, bio-diversity-rich forest through scientifically planned tree plantation. This will help purify the air, increase biodiversity and improve soil and water conservation.
