Big news for ‘electricity consumers’ in UP

Lucknow. An important update has come out for electricity consumers in Uttar Pradesh. Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) has now completed preparations to send electricity bill information directly through SMS to consumers with smart prepaid meters. Its objective is to provide timely bill information and save consumers from unnecessary hassles.

While sending the bill for the month of November, the Electricity Department has also informed the consumers that if anyone has not received the bill SMS due to wrong or old mobile number, then he can call the helpline number 1912. Apart from this, the facility to update the mobile number by visiting the counter of the concerned division is also available.

Recharge will be easier with SMS alert

Not only the bill but also the balance related information is being given to the smart prepaid meter consumers through SMS. As soon as the recharge amount reaches 30 percent, 10 percent or near zero, the consumer gets an alert. This makes it easier to recharge on time and there is no problem of power cuts.

3 days additional extension and relief

Even after the funds are exhausted, consumers are given three additional days to recharge. Apart from this, electricity connections are not cut from 6 pm to 8 am on Sundays and public holidays, which provides relief to consumers. Two percent discount in electricity tariff is also being given on timely payment.

Consumption control through mobile app

For the convenience of consumers, UPPCL has also launched a mobile app, in which complete information about outstanding amount, recharge status and daily electricity consumption is available. The consumer can see the hourly consumption and can also understand which appliance is consuming the most electricity. This makes it possible to save electricity and reduce bills.

Multiple payment options available

For electricity bill payment and recharge, facilities like uppcl.org website, UPPCL smart app, CSC, Sahaj, BHIM, PhonePe, Google Pay and departmental cash counter have been provided.
