Violence is not stopping in Bangladesh! Another Hindu youth was publicly killed by the mob
Bangladesh Hindu Man Samrat Lynching: Another case of violence against Hindus has come to light in Bangladesh. After the death of Dipu Chandra Das, Amrit Mandal who was also known as Samrat. He was beaten to death by the mob. Amrit was 29 years old. This incident happened in Rajbari district. Pangsha Model Police Station has confirmed the incident. Police said that the local people accused Amrit Mandal of extortion, after which the matter turned into mob violence.
Amrit Mandal is recorded in police records as the leader of a local gang named ‘Samrat Vahini’. The house of a Hindu family was set on fire in Raujan area near Chittagong on Tuesday. In the last five days, houses of seven Hindu families have been burnt in Raujan area. Police have arrested five suspects so far.
Another murder last week
Last week, a mob beat 28-year-old Hindu factory worker Dipu Chandra Das to death in Mymensingh city. He was accused of blasphemy. After this incident there have been protests all over the country. Interim government head Muhammad Yunus said that the government will take responsibility of the deceased’s wife, small children and parents. Police have so far arrested 12 people in this case.
184 deaths in violence this year
These incidents of violence and arson have created an atmosphere of fear in Bangladesh. On December 12, Inquilab Manch leader Sharif Osman Hadi was shot in Dhaka. He died during treatment in Singapore. The same evening, a mob set fire to the offices of the Daily Star and Prothom Alo newspapers. The offices of old cultural organizations Chhayanat and Udichi Shilpi Gosthi have also been burnt.
Yunus’ office issued a statement saying that violence under the guise of allegations or rumors cannot be tolerated. Meanwhile, human rights organization Ain O Salish Center said that so far in 2025, 184 people have died in violence in Bangladesh.
