New Zealand Squad Revealed for White Ball Series Against India
The NZC has announced the New Zealand Squad for the upcoming White-ball tour of the upcoming tour against India, with Mitchell Santner to lead the T20I side, while Michael Bracewell will lead the ODI side.
However, the New Zealand squad will be missing some prominent players like Kane Williamson, Jacob Duffy and Rachin Ravindra due to respective injuries.
Kyle Jamieson has been included in both formats following his recovery, while Mark Chapman and Matt Henry are set to return in the T20 format.
Meanwhile, left-arm spinner Jayden Lennox has earned his maiden international call-up, while uncapped Kristian Clarke has been included in the ODI squad.
The New Zealand tour of India comprises 3 ODIs and 5 T20Is, with the limited overs format will begin on January 11 while the T02i format will begin on January 21.
The T20I series will be crucial for both sides ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka which begins in the month of February.
New Zealand head coach Rob Walter has highlighted the value of touring India, and noting the exposure to spin-friendly conditions will be vital for World Cup campaign.
“Playing in the sub-continent is obviously very different to what we’re used to in New Zealand, so any opportunity we can get to expose our guys to those conditions can only be a good thing, especially prior to a T20 World Cup in the subcontinent.”
Meanwhile, BCCI has announced India T20I squad for the New Zealand tour and marquee event.
