Delhi CM Rekha Gupta arrives by metro to inaugurate Atal Canteen, a full meal will be available for Rs 5.


New Delhi. On the occasion of the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister late Atal Bihari Vajpayee, 100 Atal canteens were inaugurated by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta in Delhi today. The objective of these Atal canteens opened at different places in Delhi is to provide food to the poor. In these canteens you will get a full meal for just Rs 5. There will be food arrangements in every canteen both in the morning and evening. There will be a system of digital tokens in these canteens and monitoring will also be done through CCTV to ensure transparency.

CM Rekha Gupta traveled with the general public in Delhi Metro to reach the inauguration program of Atal Canteen. Actually, CM Rekha Gupta had to go to the venue in Nehru Nagar and for this she went to Lajpat Nagar station via metro and then reached the venue from there. People traveling in the metro were surprised to find the CM among them. During this, the Chief Minister also talked to the people traveling in the metro. On the occasion of the inauguration of Atal Canteen, many dignitaries including Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, Delhi Government Cabinet Minister Ashish Sood, BJP MLA from Jangpura Tarvinder Singh Marwah were also present.

Although the cost of each thali served in Atal canteens will be around Rs 30, the common people will have to pay only Rs 5 for it. The remaining Rs 25 will be borne by the Delhi government. The government intends that no one should sleep hungry and everyone should be able to fill their stomach with dignity, that is why a token of five rupees has been kept. Each canteen will have food arrangements for 1,000 people daily including morning and evening. RO systems have also been installed in these canteens for clean water.
