China’s big leap into the deep sea! 314 manned deep-sea dives in 2025, world shocked

China News In Hindi: China’s deep-sea scientific presence is becoming increasingly strong. The User Committee of the ‘Manned Submarine and Offshore Operation Mother Ship’, a key scientific and technological infrastructure project of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, has released the annual application status for the year 2025 and the preliminary plan for the year 2026. This information was shared during a meeting held in Sanya city of Hainan province of southern China.

According to statistics, China’s three major manned submarines ‘Chiaolong’ (dragon), ‘shanhai yongshi’ (warrior of the deep sea) and ‘fantouche’ (Experitors) are moving towards deep sea diving on an unprecedented scale in 2025. It is estimated that 93 dives will be completed during the year 2025 with ‘Qialong’ manned submersible alone.

At the same time, by December 20 in the year 2025, Shanhai Yongshi has successfully completed 106 dives and ‘Fantouche’ has successfully completed 115 dives. If we look at these figures together, by the end of 2025, China’s three manned submarines will complete a total of 314 deep sea manned dives. This achievement clearly reflects the continuous improvement of China’s marine scientific capabilities and submarine operation technology.

So far, these three deep-sea manned submarines of China have completed a total of 1,746 dives. Officials estimate that this number will exceed 2,000 by 2026, marking an important milestone in China’s deep-sea research history.

Research related to climate change

According to experts, these submarines are not only playing an important role in the study of geological structures, biodiversity and mineral resources in the depths of the sea but are also making important contributions in research related to marine environmental protection and climate change. Furthermore, the ’15th Five Year Plan’ China plans to make more extensive use of its manned and unmanned deep-sea submarine equipment during (2026-2030).

During this period, special emphasis will be placed on increasing the number of joint scientific expeditions at domestic and international levels, strengthening global scientific and technological cooperation, and giving new impetus to deep sea research, technology development and application of equipment. Thus, China’s growing involvement in deep-sea exploration not only reflects national scientific progress but also highlights its growing influence in global marine research.
