Currently, only one Nissan car, Nissan Magnite, is available for sale in the Indian market, but the price increase will directly impact this compact SUV.

How much will the prices of Nissan Magnite increase?

After the change in GST earlier this year, Nissan had given a big relief in the prices of Magnite. Then its prices were reduced from Rs 52 thousand to Rs 1 lakh. Currently, the ex-showroom price of Nissan Magnite starts from Rs 5.62 lakh and goes up to Rs 10.76 lakh.

However, after the proposed increase in prices from January 1, 2026, the price of Magnite may increase by around Rs 17,000 to Rs 32,000. After this, the new ex-showroom price of this SUV is likely to be between Rs 5.79 lakh to Rs 11.08 lakh. Magnite competes directly with popular compact SUVs like Tata Punch, Hyundai Exter and Maruti Frontx.

Nissan will launch 3 new SUVs in 2026

Nissan has confirmed the launch of three new vehicles in India for 2026. The first of these will be the Gravite compact MPV, which can hit the showrooms by March 2026. This vehicle will actually be a re-badged version of Renault Triber, but it will get a new exterior design and a different interior color scheme. The Gravit is expected to get a 1.0 liter petrol engine, which can be offered with manual and AMT gearbox.

Nissan Tekton SUV will compete with Creta

In February 2026, Nissan will launch its new mid-size SUV Tekton, which will be launched against Hyundai Creta. The Tekton will share the CMF-B platform with the Renault Duster and is likely to get similar petrol engine options.

The company has also made it clear that a 7-seater SUV based on the Tekton platform will be launched in 2027, which could be a re-badged version of the Renault Bigster/Boreal sold in the international market.

Other companies are also increasing prices

This decision of Nissan has come at a time when companies like Mercedes-Benz, BYD and MG have also announced to increase the prices of their vehicles due to increasing input costs and unfavorable exchange rates. In such a situation, more auto companies may also announce price increases in the coming time.
