America had expressed complaint for a long time
America had long demanded reforms in India’s import rules, calling them complex and cumbersome. American companies had to face frequent inspections, lengthy approval processes and documentation complications. To solve these problems, the Government of India has decided to modernize and simplify the process.
Expectations towards a trade agreement
These reforms have been made keeping in mind the possible trade agreement between India and America. The government believes that this agreement can be agreed upon by the end of the year. The agreement is expected to reduce US tariffs upon implementation, which will benefit Indian exporters and strengthen trade relations between the two countries.
