Indians with the Fastest 100 in List A Cricket

The first day of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 was meant to be a grand showcase for Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, who had entered the tournament after 15 and 7 years, respectively. Nevertheless, the 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi took all the attention and set a new record on his way to scoring the second-fastest hundred by an Indian in List A cricket.
Bihar batter was the fastest to reach the century mark in just 36 balls. Nonetheless, the Indian record is still owned by Anmolpreet Singh of Punjab, who scored a hundred off 35 balls against the same team in 2024.
With that being said, let’s go through the list of five fastest centuries by Indian players in List A cricket.
5) Abhishek Sharma – 42 balls, PUJB v MP, 2021
On March 01, 2021, Abhishek Sharma of Punjab made a century against Madhya Pradesh. It was, however, no ordinary ton. He surpassed the likes of Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav to become the then-second-fastest and now fifth-fastest player to score a hundred in List A.
4) Urvil Patel – 41 balls, GUJ v ARP, 2023
Urvil Patel was just a day removed from being released by Gujarat Titans as the IPL franchise announced their team for the 2024 season when he registered a remarkable 41-ball century in the Vijay Hazare Trophy match against Arunachal Pradesh in Chandigarh. He remained unbeaten while scoring the hundred for his state side, Gujarat.
The right-hand keeper-batter, opening the batting in a chase of 160, made the landmark with nine fours and seven sixes, and consequently, the Gujarat team finished their batting in just 13 overs.

Bihar batter, on the inaugural day of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26, attained the second fastest century in List A cricket for India, behind Anmolpreet Singh, who did it in just 35 balls for Punjab against Arunachal Pradesh in the previous season.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi outshone Yusuf Pathan in this regard, who also had claimed the fastest century in 40 balls for Baroda against Maharashtra back in 2010. Urvil Patel and Abhishek Sharma are the others players on this list, having scored 41 and 42-ball tons for their respective teams.
