Kashmiri shawl seller beaten up in Kashipur, slogans of Bharat Mata ki Jai were raised, all accused arrested
Police has taken major action in the case of attacking and beating a person selling Kashmiri shawl in Kashipur, Uttarakhand. Police have arrested a named accused and unknown people. All the accused involved in this incident are said to be Bajrang Dal workers.
Nasir Khuehami, national convenor of Jammu and Kashmir Students Association, said that he took up the matter with senior police officials. After this the police immediately registered an FIR and started action.
Police took strict action
Inspector General of Uttarakhand Police, Kumaon Range, Ridhim Aggarwal informed the association that an FIR has been registered on charges of attacking the victim and threatening to kill him. After the FIR, on the information of the informer, the police arrested Bajrang Dal leader Ankur Singh and other workers.
The association says that the Home Ministry and Uttarakhand State Government have taken serious notice of this incident. A clear warning has been given that such violence and harassment against Kashmiri businessmen will not be tolerated at all.
Violence against Kashmiris is unacceptable
The association has strongly condemned the violence and threats against Kashmiris. He said that this is completely wrong and unacceptable in a democratic society. It is important to protect the safety and honor of Kashmiri businessmen and students, there should be no violent action against them.
Nasir Khuehami told that as soon as he got the news of this incident, he immediately contacted the senior officials of Uttarakhand and told the whole matter. After this the police took swift action.
