Model and actor Avantika Mohan, known for her performances in films across languages in South India, recently criticised the lack of punctuality shown by social media influencers. “Some influencers who can’t even respect basic punctuality are an embarrassment to the industry,” she wrote. According to Avantika, who recently starred in Dheeramfeaturing Indrajith Sukumaran in the lead role, even legends such as Rajinikanth and Mohanlal, who no longer have anything to prove to anybody, “arrive on time and work with discipline”. On the other hand, Avantika said, influencers, whom she described as “rookies,” act with a sense of entitlement before they deserve a small amount of the same respect that the likes of Mohanlal and Rajinikanth earn. “Talent means nothing without professionalism, and if they can’t value others time, they clearly don’t deserve the platform they’re standing on,” the actor wrote. She added, “If you want to be taken seriously, start by showing up on time.”
