Mumbai: Renowned Hollywood director James Cameron’s new film ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ has performed brilliantly in theatres. It is the third installment in the Avatar series, introducing an exciting new story to the wonderful world of Pandora. This time, Jake Sully and Neytiri’s family face heartache and challenges when a new aggressive Na’vi tribe, the ‘Ash People’, enters the story. The amazing visuals of the film, 3D effects and experiencing it in IMAX becomes a magical moment.
The film has received a great response from the audience since its release on 19 December 2025. Despite competition from Ranveer Singh’s hit spy thriller ‘Dhurandhar’, ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ has shown stability in its earnings. Although ‘Dhurandhar’ continues to hold the top position in India, ‘Avatar’ continues to dominate other films among Hollywood fans.
James Cameron’s ‘Avatar 3’ earns big on Christmas
According to the information received from Sacknilk, on Christmas i.e. 25th December, the film did a business of around Rs 13.50 crore in India, taking the total net collection to Rs 109.65 crore. This growth is due to family audiences coming to theaters during the Christmas holidays. Crossing the Rs 100 crore mark in a single week is a big success for this film. It has become the highest-grossing Hollywood film in India in 2025, surpassing the lifetime collection of earlier films like ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’.
The biggest Hollywood film of the year 2025
The magic of the film is amazing even at the global level, so far its global collection has reached 483.3 million US dollars. Like the first two parts, this film is also proving to be a long haul horse. More visitors are expected during the Christmas and New Year holidays. In the film, actors like Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Kate Winslet, Stephen Lang have returned to their old roles. The arrival of new tribes and enemies is giving a great mix of action and emotions.
Audiences have shown interest in rediscovering the dangerous but captivating world of Pandora. That being said, watching this film on the big screen, especially in 3D, is a must. ‘Dhurandhar’ may be at the top among authentic Indian films, but ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ is no match in the Hollywood category. This film has the potential to break more records in the coming days.
