‘Tu Meri Main Tera…’ magic did not work at the box office
Kartik Aryan and Ananya Pandey’s film ‘Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri’ has faltered at the box office on its opening day. Despite heavy promotion and star cast, the film failed to attract the audience to the theatres. The biggest reason for this was Ranveer Singh’s film ‘Dhurandhar’, whose new release does not seem to be able to keep up with its stormy earnings.
Earnings were average on the first day
According to the report of Sacknilk, ‘Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri’ did a business of only Rs 7.50 crore on the first day. The surprising thing is that compared to the advance booking figures, there was no significant jump in the earnings on the opening day. Even the Christmas holiday did not benefit the film much.
‘Dhurandhar’ shines even on Christmas
Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar’ has been maintaining a strong hold at the box office since its release on December 5. Even on Christmas day, the film performed brilliantly and earned Rs 26.50 crore, which is almost three times more than the earning of Karthik-Ananya’s film. Till now the film has done a business of around Rs 633 crore in India.
Mixed response to the film
‘Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri’ has received mixed responses from audiences and critics. Veteran actors like Neena Gupta, Jackie Shroff and Aruna Irani are also seen in important roles in the film. But the weak story has turned out to be the biggest weakness of the film. The film is directed by ‘Satyprem Ki Katha’ fame Sameer Vidwans, while it is produced under the banner of Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.
