Two-day brainstorming meeting of PM Modi and Chief Secretaries of states, what issues will be discussed?

The 5th Chief Secretaries meeting chaired by PM Narendra Modi will be held in Delhi on 27 and 28 December. This two-day brainstorming meeting is being held with the aim of creating better coordination between the Center and the states. This time the theme of the meeting has been ‘Human Capital for Developed India’, that is, the maximum emphasis will be on education, skills and employment to take the country forward.

Special focus will be on education and skill development

In this meeting, important issues like primary education, school education, higher education and skill development will be discussed in detail. The government believes that unless the youth of the country get opportunities to get better education and employment, the dream of a developed India will remain incomplete. PM Modi himself will talk to the Chief Secretaries of the states on strengthening the education system and making the youth employable.

There will also be talk on linking agriculture and technology

The digital framework of the agriculture sector will also be discussed in the meeting. The government wants that data related to farmers, crops and farming should be brought on a digital platform, so that the benefits of government schemes reach the farmers directly. This will strengthen the supply chain and farmers will be able to get the right market and the right price.

Plan to connect Naxal affected areas with the mainstream

An important agenda of this meeting is the future of Naxal affected and Naxal free areas. The government has set a target to completely eliminate Naxalism from the country by March 2026. There will be discussion on increasing basic facilities like roads, electricity, water, schools, hospitals, providing education and employment to local youth and strengthening the presence of administration in such areas.

Brainstorming on tourism, self-reliant India and reforms in the states

Apart from this, issues like tourism development, self-reliant India, simplification of rules in states and better use of technology in government work will also be raised in the meeting. The objective is that the Center and the states should work together like Team India and the pace of development should be accelerated.
