BS-6 Vehicles below ₹ allowed in Delhi
Sirsa said, “Let me tell you that vehicles less than BS-6 are officially allowed in Delhi, but it would be better if you do not bring them. The less the pollution, the better, so try to bring as few vehicles as possible to the state.” He also said that at present there is no strict restriction on this and the situation is being monitored. The minister said, “As long as the situation remains fine, there will be no restrictions. We will see later.”
No PUCC, No fuel rule strictly enforced
In Delhi, Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said that vehicles below BS-6 have been allowed to enter the capital, but challans and other strict action against polluting vehicles will continue. Sirsa said that the rule of ‘No PUCC, No Fuel’ will be strictly enforced in the capital. He warned, “Any polluting vehicle, whether BS-4 or BS-3, will be issued a challan. Vehicles coming from outside are especially being monitored as they mostly do not have PUCC.” The minister appealed to the citizens to reduce the use of old vehicles as much as possible to reduce pollution. At the same time, the administration is ensuring that all the vehicles coming into the state conform to PUCC certificate and environmental standards.
Weather will worsen again due to western disturbance in Delhi
However, Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa warned on Friday that the weather may worsen again from tomorrow. There is a possibility of increase in haze and smog in the capital due to the effect of Western Disturbance. He appealed to the citizens to remain alert and cooperate in efforts to reduce pollution. The minister said the air quality is being continuously monitored and the administration will take additional steps, as required, to reduce the health crisis caused by air pollution in the capital.
Heavy fog expected due to bad weather again
He said, “I want to tell you that the weather in Delhi will turn bad again because Western Disturbance is going to occur and its effect will be visible from tomorrow or day after tomorrow.” Sirsa further said that due to bad weather, there is a possibility of increase in haze and smog in the capital. According to the Meteorological Department, even if we look at the data of previous years, there is a strong possibility of bad weather this time. Citizens have been appealed to remain alert and cooperate in measures to reduce pollution.
