New flagship may arrive in February 2026, feature update in discussion – Obnews

Samsung’s **Galaxy S26 series**—which includes the S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra—is expected to launch later than recent past models, with the leak suggesting a **Galaxy Unpacked event** will take place in February 2026 (likely on February 25 in San Francisco). Sales may begin in March, separate from the January launch of the S24 and S25 series.

According to design rumors, it will have an improved look, including **rounded corners** on the Ultra and a possible **identical camera island** across all models for better lens protection. The display is expected to be a QHD+ AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate; The Ultra and probably the Plus will have a **6.9-inch** display, while the base model will have a ~6.2-6.3-inch display with a peak brightness of 2,600-3,000 nits.

Performance highlights include **Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5** (or Exynos 2600 for non-Ultra models in some regions), which promises better efficiency and advanced Galaxy AI features.

Camera upgrades will be gradual: the Base and Plus may get an improved **12MP 3x telephoto** (instead of 10MP), with a 50MP main and 12MP ultra-wide camera. The Ultra may retain its quad setup (200MP main, 50MP ultra-wide, 50MP 5x, variable 3x) with better processing.

Battery rumors vary: The Ultra will probably have a **5,000mAh** battery (likely with silicon-carbon technology for density), which will support fast **60W charging**; Plus ~4,900mAh; The base will potentially have a battery of up to **4,300mAh**.

Pricing is expected to be similar to the S25: Starting price in India ~₹80,999 (Base), ₹99,999 (Plus), ₹1,29,999 (Ultra).

All details are not yet confirmed; Samsung usually improves its flagship phones by improving AI, display, and performance.
