Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren met the delegation of Central Sarna Committee, Raji Padha Sarna Prayer Sabha and Tribal Boys-Girls Hostel Ranchi at his Kanke Road residence on Friday. On this occasion, the people included in the delegation expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister Hemant Soren for the approval of the PESA rules (Panchayat Provisions, Extension Act on Scheduled Areas) by the State Government from the Council of Ministers and expressed their heartfelt thanks to him. The members of the delegation reached the Chief Minister’s residential complex with the sound of drums. Addressing the people present on this occasion, Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that for the last two days, I have been getting information about the feelings and enthusiasm of the people from various areas of the state including cities, villages and towns. The Chief Minister said that you all know how much our ancestors have struggled to preserve the tribals and indigenous people of Jharkhand, its water, forests, land and civilization. The Chief Minister said that from time to time many rules and regulations were made in this state. Some rules and laws were in favor of the tribals and indigenous people here, but many things were against them, but our ancestors fought hard to correct those rules and laws which were against them.

Jharkhand is the land of sacrifices

Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that many of our brave sons sacrificed their lives to save the water, forests and land along with the civilization and culture of Jharkhand. Our ancestors had to face so many hardships, but the period of struggle never ended in Jharkhand. The Chief Minister said that our ancestors envisioned a separate Jharkhand state. After a long fight and movement of our leading leaders, Jharkhand state was finally formed in the year 2000. After the formation of the state, Jharkhand has seen many ups and downs. The rights of the tribals and indigenous people here were violated. The Chief Minister said that ultimately you all entrusted me with the responsibility of handling the reins of this state. I have been continuously receiving blessings and affection from all of you. The Chief Minister said that I had to struggle a lot to fulfill the responsibility you gave me. But with the blessings and affection of all of you and the true intention of working in the interest of the state, our caravan continued to move forward, and ultimately the truth prevailed. Today, with the support of all of you, Jharkhand is continuously moving forward with strength.
Tribal self-governance, respect and protection of cultural heritage a priority

Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that our government is determined to strengthen the Panchayat in Jharkhand. Our government has approved the PESA law in the direction of tribal self-governance, dignity and protection of cultural heritage. With the implementation of PESA law in the state, the Gram Sabhas of tribal areas will get many powers including the right to take decisions. The Chief Minister said that the tribal communities living in Jharkhand since ancient times are the soul of our civilization and culture. This PESA law, which will strengthen their rights, self-respect and self-governance, will prove to be a milestone in the all-round development of the society and the state in the times to come.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that this 25 year old youth of Jharkhand is moving forward with strength. Just a few days ago, our government has given government appointments to about 10 thousand youth here. In the coming time also, along with appointments, various means of employment will be created. The Chief Minister said that the state government has done the work of passing the PESA rules from the cabinet after deep thinking and brainstorming. The Chief Minister urged the people present that all of you will have to be aware of the rules and regulations that are made, only then the benefits of these rules and regulations can be extended to the last person standing in the way of development.
