Lohardaga: In Senha block of the district, the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) team took a major action on Friday and arrested Panchayat Secretary of Dandu and Bhadgaon Panchayat Surendra Gupta red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 15 thousand. This bribe was being demanded from Krishna Oraon, a beneficiary of the horticulture scheme, in exchange for generating the muster roll. A complaint was lodged with the ACB by the victim beneficiary demanding bribe. After investigating the veracity of the complaint, ACB laid a trap. The ACB team under the leadership of DSP reached Senha block office on Friday. As soon as Krishna Oraon handed over the bribe amount to the Panchayat Secretary, the already deployed ACB team caught him on the spot.

After the arrest, the Panchayat Secretary was kept in a vehicle in the block office premises for a long time. During this time, the ACB team remained busy in necessary paperwork and interrogation. Later the accused took the Panchayat Secretary with her for further action. This action of ACB has created a stir in Senha block. Local people are considering this action as a strong message against corruption. Various types of discussions continued throughout the day in the block office. ACB said that further investigation in the case is going on and other aspects will also be investigated as per requirement.
