Ministry of External Affairs has made a significant statement regarding the extradition of the ‘biggest fugitives’ to India. Listen to what it said.

New Delhi. At the weekly press briefing of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs today, journalists asked questions regarding the return of two fugitive criminals from India, Lalit Modi and Vijay Mallya. Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, while answering this question in very clear words, said that the Government of India is committed to bringing back all the fugitives, all the people who have fled from the ambit of our law. The Government of India is in talks with many countries in this regard. I want to assure that concrete steps are being taken in this matter.

Actually, fugitive Lalit Modi had recently posted a video on Instagram in which he was partying with another fugitive businessman Vijay Mallya. Lalit had said in this video, we two are India’s biggest fugitives. Although that video was later deleted, by then it had gone viral. This video was from Vijay Mallya’s birthday party. Lalit Modi and Vijay Mallya were looking very happy in the video. There was also a woman with him. Let us tell you that the extradition cases of both Lalit Modi and Vijay Mallya are pending in the London court. The Indian government has been trying to bring both of them back for a long time. There are many serious allegations against both of them including money laundering and fraud.

Issue of delay in H-1B visa raised before America

On the issue of cancellation of American H-1B visa appointments, Randhir Jaiswal said, the Indian government has received many complaints from Indian citizens in this regard. Although visa-related matters fall under the sovereign jurisdiction of the visa-issuing country, India has raised the issue with US officials in New Delhi and Washington DC. The affected individuals and their families have faced a number of hardships, including disruption in education, due to visa delays. The government is actively negotiating with the US side to resolve this issue and minimize its impact on Indian citizens.
