Udaipur rape case: Three arrested in gang rape case, sent to police custody
Jaipur. Three people, including the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company, have been arrested in connection with the alleged gang rape of the manager of a private IT company in Udaipur city. Police said on Friday that the court has sent the three accused to police custody.
According to the police, accused CEO Jitesh Sisodia had organized his birthday party last Saturday in which the victim was also invited. The second accused Gaurav Sirohi, resident of Meerut, and his wife, the executive head of the company, have also been arrested. Udaipur Superintendent of Police Yogesh Goyal said, “The accused were arrested by the Sukher police station under relevant sections of the Indian Justice Code. They were produced in the court on Thursday from where they were sent to four-day police custody.”
According to the police, the incident took place last Saturday night. After the birthday party, when all the guests left, the victim was left alone. The victim alleged that on the pretext of dropping her home, the female executive head of the company made her sit in her car. The woman’s husband and the CEO of the company were also in the car. All three set out to drop the woman home. It is alleged that on the way he bought something like a cigarette from a shop and gave it to the woman. After using it she became unconscious. The next morning, she realized she had been sexually assaulted and decided to lodge a police complaint, police said. Based on the complaint, a case was registered against three accused and they were arrested. Medical examination of the victim was conducted and statements were recorded.
