Vijay Hazare Trophy: Mumbai batsman Raghuvanshi injured, admitted to hospital

Jaipur. Mumbai opening batsman Angkrish Raghuvanshi was taken to the hospital after suffering a concussion on his shoulder, neck and head while trying to take a difficult catch during the Vijay Hazare Trophy match against Uttarakhand on Friday. The incident occurred in the 30th over of the innings in which off-spinner Tanush Kotian was bowling.

Right-handed batsman Saurabh Rawat tried to play a slog-sweep and Raghuvanshi, standing at deep midwicket, ran forward quickly to take the catch. He tried to catch the ball with one hand but it was not successful and he fell, injuring his shoulder and hitting his head on the ground.

Due to this he got concussion (head injury). Raghuvanshi remained sitting on his knees for a few seconds but then lay down on the ground. After this the Mumbai physio reached the ground. When Raghuvanshi was unable to stand on his feet, a stretcher was called for and the ‘ambulance’ standing outside took him to the nearby SDMH hospital. Necessary scans will be done and they will be kept under observation.
