Vaibhav Suryavanshi honored by President Draupadi Murmu, rising cricket star got a special honor

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Awarded Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar: 14-year-old young batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi from Bihar, who performed brilliantly during the Vijay Hazare Trophy, was honored with the National Children’s Award by the country’s President Draupadi Murmu. Vaibhav was given this honor for his extraordinary achievements in cricket.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi attracted the attention of the entire country by playing an explosive inning of 190 runs at the age of just 14 against Arunachal Pradesh in the Vijay Hazare Trophy on 24 December. After this historic innings, his match against Manipur was scheduled on 26th December, but due to the National Children’s Award ceremony, he had to come to New Delhi. For this reason, Vaibhav will no longer be able to participate in the remaining matches of Bihar in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Apart from this, Vaibhav has to join the Indian Under-19 team from December 30, after which he will leave for the ODI series against South Africa. Soon after this, he will also represent India in the Under-19 World Cup starting from January 15.

What is National Children’s Award?

The National Child Award is the country’s highest civilian honour, given to children aged 5 to 18 years for their exceptional achievements. This award is given by the Ministry of Women and Child Development and is given in various categories like sports, science and technology, art-culture, social service, innovation and environment.

Under this honour, the children are given a medal, certificate, citation and a cash amount of Rs 1 lakh by the President. He also gets the opportunity to attend the Republic Day Parade, although Vaibhav will not be present in the country at that time due to international cricket commitments.

Vaibhav created a stir at just 14 years of age

At the age of just 14, Vaibhav Suryavanshi has proved his talent from domestic cricket to Under-19 level. Not only this, while playing for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2025, he created a sensation all over the world by scoring a stormy century. Seeing his aggressive style and fearless batting, cricket experts are considering him as India’s next big superstar.
