In fact, Veer Bal Diwas is celebrated every year on 26th December to honor the sons of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Sahibzada Baba Zorawar Singh Ji and Baba Fateh Singh Ji, who attained martyrdom at a young age. On Friday, PM Narendra Modi participated in the Veer Bal Diwas programme. During this time he saw the National Drama Academy’s play “Nanhe Rakshak of New India”. At the event organized at Bharat Mandapam, PM Modi said, “Today the country is celebrating Veer Bal Diwas. We remember the brave Sahibzadas, who are the pride of India and a symbol of the courage and bravery of the country. They broke the boundaries of age and stood like a rock in front of the cruel Mughals, thereby shaking religious fundamentalism and terrorism.”

PM Modi said, “Every 26th December gives me great satisfaction that our government has started celebrating Veer Bal Diwas, taking inspiration from the stories of brave Sahibzadas. On this day, children have got a platform, who are honored with the Prime Minister’s Child Award for the work that makes the country proud.” He said, “The Sahibzadas faced the greatest force of that time. The conflict was between Indian values and religious fundamentalism, between truth and lies. On one side was Guru Gobind Singh Ji, and on the other side was the reign of the cruel Aurangzeb. The Sahibzadas were very young, but it did not matter to Aurangzeb. In order to force conversion, he felt that he would have to break the courage of India, and so he gave the Sahibzadas a chance.” But the Mughals forgot that our Guru was the epitome of sacrifice. The brave Sahibzadas inherited the same, and despite the entire Mughal army being against them, none of the four Sahibzadas could be deterred.”

On Veer Bal Diwas, PM Modi said, “The story of Sahibzadas should have been on the tongue of every person in the country, but unfortunately, even after independence, we could not free ourselves from the mentality of slavery. The seeds of this mentality were sown by the British leader Macaulay in 1835. Many truths were deliberately hidden. Today, India has decided to free itself from this mentality. Our heroes are now We will not be marginalised, and that is why Veer Bal Diwas is being celebrated with full enthusiasm, when 200 years of Macaulay’s conspiracy will be completed, we have ten years to free the country from the mentality of slavery. This should be the resolve of 140 crore Indians.
