Dhami government’s big campaign: Crackdown on those who commit crimes under the guise of faith

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Uttarakhand government is gearing up to protect the cultural, religious and social identity of Devbhoomi. He clearly says that Uttarakhand is not just a piece of land, but the sacred center of faith and traditions of crores of people. Any kind of playing with the dignity here will not be tolerated.

Under this strict stance, the state government started “Operation Kalanemi” from July 10. Its objective is to attack hypocrisy, fraud, illegal activities and suspects in the name of religion and faith. The sanctity of Devbhoomi has to be protected and law and order has to be strengthened, so that public trust remains intact.

A blast of raids in three districts

Vigorous verification drives were carried out in sensitive districts like Haridwar, Dehradun and Udham Singh Nagar. In Haridwar, 3,091 people were investigated, 715 cases were registered and 305 people were arrested.

In Dehradun, 1,711 persons were verified and 206 were arrested, 9 cases were registered and preventive action was taken against 380. The crackdown on illegal foreigners was also tightened. In Udham Singh Nagar, 220 suspects were nabbed and cases registered in serious cases.

A total of more than 4,802 people were verified across the state, 724 cases were registered and 511 arrests were made. The special thing is that 19 Bangladeshis were caught living illegally. Of these, 10 were deported, action is underway on the remaining 9.

Chief Minister Dhami clearly said that this campaign is not against any caste or community. This is to protect law, order and the honor of Devbhoomi. Full respect for faith, but there will be no exemption for crime, hypocrisy or fraud in its name.

He reprimanded the officials to keep an eye on such activities and not tolerate negligence. Those who play with Devbhoomi will get severe punishment. The Uttarakhand government is fully prepared to protect religious values along with development, and Operation Kalanemi is a big proof of this.
