The journey of Vivek Express starts from Dibrugarh in Assam. This train passes through cities like New Tinsukia, Simaluguri, Mariani, Furkating, Guwahati and Kokrajhar. After this it enters West Bengal and Bihar via Dimapur in Nagaland. The train enters Odisha via Jalpaiguri, Malda Town, Rampurhat, Burdwan and Kharagpur.

Entry into Andhra Pradesh after Odisha
Following the route through Odisha, it passes through the coastal cities of Andhra Pradesh like Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry, Vijayawada and Nellore. It then passes through the beautiful cities of Tamil Nadu and Kerala like Coimbatore, Thrissur, Ernakulam, Kottayam, Kollam and Thiruvananthapuram and ends its journey at Kanyakumari.

Started in Railway Budget 2011-12…
Vivek Express was started in the Railway Budget 2011-12. It was run on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. Its train number while going from Dibrugarh to Kanyakumari is 15906/22504 and in return 22503/15905. Its frequency has also been increased and now it runs four days a week, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
