Ranchi: Icy winds have increased the severity in Jharkhand. People are feeling shivering due to cold. The effect of cold wave is visible in many districts of the state including the capital Ranchi. The minimum temperature in Shimla was recorded at 9 degrees Celsius while in Gumla it reached 2.8 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department has issued a cold wave alert in many districts of the state for the next two days. According to the Meteorological Center, the weather will remain dry for the next five days.

During this period, light to moderate fog may prevail in the morning. For the next two days i.e. till December 28, the minimum temperature may decrease by up to 2 degrees. The minimum temperature in 13 districts of Jharkhand has gone below 10 degrees Celsius. Also, 21.3 degrees Celsius was recorded in Lohardaga, 21.4 degrees in Ranchi, 21.6 degrees in Bokaro, 21.7 degrees in Gumla, 23.1 degrees in Pakur, 23.2 degrees in Daltonganj, 24.0 degrees in Jamshedpur and 24.3 degrees Celsius in Khunti.
