The Crime Branch team has busted a gang that procures expired food products like snacks, chocolates, biscuits, wafers, candy, chips, ketchup, sauces, vinegar, minis, etc. from many countries like USA, Dubai, Britain etc. and then repackaging them and selling them at cheaper prices. In this case, 7 accused including the mastermind were arrested.

Giving this information, DCP Crime Harsh Indora said that under the supervision of DCP Aditya Gautam, ACP Anil Sharma’s team has recovered goods worth Rs 4 crore 30 lakh from Pahari Dheeraj and Faizganj area of Sadar Bazaar. In this case, the mastermind and his 7 associates were arrested.
Used to change information to hide identity
The police have also recovered a machine which changes the wrapper and puts a new expiry date etc. Apart from the expiry date, these people used to change the barcode, rate details etc. using these machines. This Gorakh business was running till Delhi through agents of Mumbai.
Such products found from Sadar Bazaar area
These people used to put people’s lives at risk by illegally importing expired food products and supplying them across the country after repackaging. These products were also being sold through big retail chains, shopping malls and e-commerce platforms. When the warehouse of Pahadi Dheeraj and Faiz Ganj of Sadar Bazaar was raided, a large quantity of this product was recovered from there.
