Sahibzade is a symbol of the supreme expression of courage against religious fanaticism: PM Modi
New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said the supreme sacrifice of the Sahibzadas (sons) of the tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh, is the supreme expression of India’s indomitable courage, bravery and valor against the brutal Mughal Sultanate. Addressing an event organized to commemorate the martyrdom of Sahibzade Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh on the occasion of Veer Bal Diwas, Modi said that the country is remembering those brave sons who represent the pinnacle of India’s indomitable courage, bravery and bravery.
He said, “Today we remember the pride of our nation, the brave Sahibzadas. He is a symbol of India’s highest ideals of indomitable courage and bravery. Those brave Sahibzadas broke the boundaries of age and condition. He stood like a rock against the cruel Mughal Sultanate in such a way that the very existence of religious fanaticism and terror was shaken. What can’t a nation do, which has such a glorious past and whose young generation has inherited such inspirations?” The Prime Minister said that Sahibzade was quite young at that time, but this had no impact on the cruelty of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb.
He said, “Aurangzeb knew that if he wanted to create fear among the people of India and force them to convert, he would first have to break the morale of the Indians. That is why he targeted the Sahibzadas. But Aurangzeb and his generals had forgotten that our Guru was not an ordinary human being. He was the embodiment of penance and sacrifice.
Modi said that the courage and ideals of Mata Gujri Ji, Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji and the four Sahibzadas continue to provide strength to every Indian. He said, “Sahibzada Ajit Singh Ji, Sahibzada Jujhar Singh Ji, Sahibzada Zorawar Singh Ji and Sahibzada Fateh Singh Ji had to face the biggest power of that time at a very young age. This struggle was not just for power, but was a conflict between the basic ideas of India and religious fanaticism. It was a battle between truth and falsehood.”
On January 9, 2022, on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Sri Guru Gobind Singh, the Prime Minister had announced that December 26 will be observed as ‘Veer Bal Diwas’ in memory of the martyrdom of his sons Sahibzade Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh, whose unmatched sacrifice still inspires generations. On the occasion of Veer Bal Diwas, the Government of India is organizing participatory programs across the country, the objective of which is to make the citizens aware of the indomitable courage and supreme sacrifice of the Sahibzadas and to honor and remember the indomitable courage, sacrifice and bravery of these young heroes of the history of India.
