5 minutes or 30 minutes? How long should you do meditation daily, know the right method

This day is celebrated all over the world to promote meditation in life. Nowadays, in the busy life, everyone suffers from the problem of stress and depression. For this, meditation is the most important solution which gives you relief from this problem. Meditation is not just a religious or spiritual practice, but also a scientific method that provides many benefits. In such a situation, today we will know here how long meditation should be done and what is the right way to do it.

Know which people should meditate when

Here on World Meditation Day, if meditation is done properly, it benefits the body. Meditation is not just a religious or spiritual practice, but also a scientific method that provides many benefits. Let us know for whom meditation is necessary.

For beginners- If you are starting to meditate for the first time, try not to sit still for too long. Only 5-10 minutes is enough in the beginning. This helps your brain get into the habit of concentrating. Consistency is more important than time. Doing 5 minutes a day is much better than doing 1 hour a day a week.

For regular practitioners- When you get used to sitting, you can gradually increase the time. 15-20 minutes a day is considered best for reducing stress, improving memory and mental peace. If you want, you can also do two sessions of 10 minutes each (morning and evening). Apart from this, many experienced people meditate for 30 to 45 minutes. Research shows that meditating for about 13-20 minutes daily for 8 weeks brings about major changes in the functioning of the brain. Some experts believe that you should meditate for at least that many minutes depending on your age (for example, 25 minutes at the age of 25).

Know the right way to do meditation

Here, to remain mentally healthy, it is good to do meditation, it helps in calming the mind and also relieves stress. You can easily do this at your home. Apart from this, choose a place where no one will disturb you. Morning time is considered best, but you can also choose evening or night time as per your convenience. In this process, sit in Sukhasana (cross-legged) on the ground or if there is difficulty in sitting on the ground, then sit on a chair. Do not sit bent over, nor keep your body too stiff. Place your hands on your knees (in Gyan Mudra or palms facing up). Now slowly and gradually close your eyes. Take a deep and long breath and exhale slowly. Now pay attention to the natural pace of your breathing. Feel how air is going in and out of the body. Meditation does not mean stopping thoughts. When thoughts come to mind, don’t stop them.

Ideas are stored in a “cloud” See it passing and bring your attention back to your breathing. When your time is up (initially 5-10 minutes), do not open your eyes immediately. Feel the environment around you. Rub the palms together, place them on the eyes and then slowly open the eyes.
