Kanishkadev Media Cricket: Pankaj shines in Garde XI’s victory, Lalji XI out with second consecutive defeat

Varanasi26 December. Garde XI opened its account by defeating Lalji XI by four wickets with 19 balls remaining with the help of the all-round performance of ‘Player of the Match’ Pankaj Chaubey (1-14 and 36 runs, 46 balls, four fours) in the Group ‘B’ match of the 38th Kanishkadev Gorawala Memorial Media Cricket Competition here on Friday. After the second consecutive defeat, the challenge of Lalji XI ended.

Opting to bat first at the Dr. Sampurnanand Sports Complex, Lalji XI had scored 114 runs for six wickets. In response, Garde XI achieved an easy victory by scoring 115 runs for six wickets in 16.5 overs.

Lalji XI captain Chandra Prakash’s versatile performance in vain

In fact, the captain of Lalji XI, Chandra Prakash, who was bundled out for 44 runs in front of Hriday Prakash XI a day earlier, today showed a little shine of his sports college days. In this order, with the fifth position, he played an aggressive inning of 30 unbeaten runs (20 balls, one six, two fours) and took the team beyond 100. Later he also took three wickets for 20 runs. After that, Abhishek Mishra (12 runs not out, 10 balls, one six) along with Anurag Shukla (one run not out) put the final seal on the team’s victory. Mr. Extra also contributed 38 runs in this victory. Apart from Chandra Prakash, Ajit Singh took two wickets for 20 while Aishwarya got one success.
