First convocation ceremony held at Gujarat Biotechnology University, Gandhinagar Gujarati

Gandhinagar: The first convocation ceremony of Gujarat Biotechnology University was attended by Cabinet Education Minister Dr. It was organized in the presence of Kuberbhai Deendor, on this occasion the Chairman of the Advisory Council of the University, Dr. Subir Majumdar welcomed the dignitaries present in the auditorium. He also presented a brief report highlighting the achievements and future aspirations of the university before the dignitaries.

In his speech, he thanked Dilip Sanghvi for supporting the University through five flagship research programs, one for each department of the University. Apart from this, he also completed his PhD from the University. Ms. Mona Khandhar, IAS and Gujarat Government were also thanked for sanctioning University Fellowship to 20 scholars for the course.

On this occasion, Ms. Mona Khandhare, Principal Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, addressed the gathering and stressed the importance of biotechnology in today’s world. University Chairman Mr. Dilip Sanghvi, through an inspirational address, encouraged the graduates to make meaningful contribution to the society.

Cabinet Minister Dr. Kuberbhai Dindore, in his inspiring speech, blessed the graduates for a bright future and congratulated the development work done by the university in a very short period of time.

Under this program, Ms. in Animal Biotechnology. Neha Padhi, Ms. Chandni Tandel in Environmental Biotechnology, Ms. Aishwarya in Industrial Biotechnology, Mr. Adit Kotak in Medical Biotechnology and Ms. Simran Dani in Plant Biotechnology were given gold medals by the dignitaries.

These programs were attended by (Chairman of the University and Managing Director of Sun Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd.) Dilip Sanghvi, Principal Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology, Ms. Mona Khandhar, Chairman of the Advisory Council of the University and Sudhir Vaid, Managing Director of Concord Biotech Ltd., Prof. of the University of Edinburgh. David Leach, Director General of the University, Dr. Subir Majumdar, and Registrar of the University, Dr. Jitendra Leilani was present.
