While on one hand Aadhaar card is the most important document for personal identity of any citizen, on the other hand, it is an important document for calculating the income and tax related income of any Indian citizen through PAN card.

Linking Aadhaar and PAN mandatory

The Government of India has now made it mandatory to link both these important documents with each other. For which the deadline of 31 December 2025 has been kept. Till this day people can get their two documents linked without any inconvenience. However, if you are not able to do this within the time limit, you may have to face many problems.

How to know Aadhaar-PAN link status?

If you want to know whether your Aadhar card and PAN card are linked or not, you can do it by following some easy but important steps. With the help of these steps, you can easily find out whether your Aadhaar and PAN card are linked or not.

  • To know the Aadhaar-PAN card link, visit the official website of Income Tax www.incometax.gov.in.
  • Click on the ‘Quick Links’ section on the homepage of the website.
  • Go to the section ‘Link Aadhaar Status’.
  • After this fill both your PAN number and Aadhar card number in the given box.
  • After filling the number, click on the option ‘View Link Aadhaar Status’.
  • After which you will see whether Aadhaar-PAN link is available on your screen or not.

What will be the loss if Aadhaar-PAN is not linked?

According to the rules for linking Aadhaar and PAN card by the Government of India, if a citizen does not link his Aadhaar and PAN card by 31 December 2025, then he may have to face many problems. Due to which your PAN card may become inoperative and there may be problems in bank related work. Apart from this, more tax i.e. TDS can be deducted on your earnings. Most importantly, you may face a lot of trouble in filing income tax returns.
